Rhodes

About the Retreat

Our retreat took place between two seas — the Mediterranean and the Aegean. Every morning we greeted the sunrise by the Mediterranean Sea with a Kundalini Yoga practice, and in the evening we headed to the Aegean to meditate in the rays of the setting sun.

Thus, every day we travelled between two elements, two poles of our inner nature — masculine and feminine, activity and stillness, movement and contemplation.

Places of Power

We explored Rhodes as an island of ancient spiritual traditions and places of power. We visited Orthodox shrines, ancient cities, monasteries and nature reserves.

Over seven days we travelled about 700 kilometres and visited:

  • the famous thermal springs of Kallithea
  • whitewashed Lindos
  • the Monastery of Our Lady of Tsambika
  • the sacred Mount Filerimos with its peacocks
  • the medieval Old Town of Rhodes
  • Prasonisi Cape, where two seas meet

Seven Springs

And at the Seven Springs (Epta Piges) we walked barefoot through the water along a long, dark tunnel — turning an ordinary trip into a symbolic encounter with our fears.

Nature and Cuisine

Between practices and pilgrimages we enjoyed the island's remarkable nature:

  • pine forests
  • centuries-old plane trees
  • the scents of wild rosemary and sage
  • blooming oleanders
  • turquoise bays
  • traditional Greek cuisine with its variety of plant-based dishes

The Outcome

Two seas. Two principles. One path to inner balance.

That is what our Rhodes became — a journey in which Kundalini Yoga, nature and the island's spiritual heritage merged into a single experience.
